BGS technic KG! Traditional, owner-managed family business, which has been offering a constantly growing range of hand and automotive speciality tools for over 50 years.

As one of the pioneers of the tool import industry, Bernd Schottke recognised opportunities in global trade very early on. Trade contacts are quickly established in Spain, Italy, England, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and India.

In the mid-1970s, the BGS brand became known to an ever larger audience: Tool wholesalers and large mail order companies of the time became aware of the goods with the exceptional price-performance ratio. A torque spanner became the first big seller.

In order to meet the increasing demand, several warehouses are quickly rented in Wermelskirchen and Remscheid, and in 1987 the company's first own building is constructed. The now registered BGS brand has become well-known in the industry.

The product range grows continuously over the years and, in addition to standard hand tools, soon includes special tools and workshop equipment for the automotive industry. By the mid-1990s, more than 1500 items were already on offer. At this time, the company had four employees.

At the turn of the millennium, Bernd Schottke's sons Frank and Christoph Schottke join the company, followed a few years later by his third son Benjamin. They continue to drive the company's growth, initially together with their father, who finally hands over BGS to the second generation in 2008. The new company building on Bandwirkerstraße in Wermelskirchen was built in the same year. The sons continue to focus consistently on what has made BGS successful: Tools and workshop equipment at a convincing price-performance ratio. Today, our family business on Bandwirkerstraße in Wermelskirchen employs around 90 people and offers a range of around 9000 items in over 100 countries around the world.
